how long has it been since I have posted on blogger? ages....over a year at least...well if you really want me you can find me @ www.gypsykate.wordpress.com though I might set my live writer to publish on both blogs incase I should find some followers here lol....I could use some followers...feeling a bit isolated lately.

Pure Pleasure

I have been scrapping for the pure pleasure of creating lately. Its so nice not to have a care about what anyone thinks of my layouts. I did two layouts over the weekend with photos from my cousins wee boys birthday party last weekend. I had some great photos of Katie in her pretty party dress as well as some fab photos of her and the boys at the party who were all dressed as super heroes. I will take a photo of the layouts tomorrow and upload them.

I really enjoyed just sitting in my scraproom and playing. I used some very simple techniques and just enjoyed the quiet time. Katie came in and had great fun playing with buttons and flowers while I was working, she loves playing with my button jars but still shows no interest in scrapbooking lol…oh well…she is only 3, there's time yet. She would rather paint or draw but funnily enough she doesnt do paintings at preschool, how weird is that, she does plenty at home so I suppose she doesn't feel the need to do them at preschool.

She’s been very moody lately, one moment happy the next throwing a full on tantrum, I am sure she is worse this year than when she was going through the terrible twos. the tantrums are certainly worse. Its a stage, I really hope its a stage anyway :)

anyway there's nothing on TV so I think I will go curl up with a good book instead. Hardly worth sitting and staring at the box if there is nothing on and if I start scrapping now it will be midnight before I go to bed again.

Introducing...

introducing my new grandneice Harmony Isabell Mullen. isnt she a wee sweet heart? she was just a few days old when that photo was taken, shes 6 weeks old now and I still havent seen her. I was to sick to go over to Blenheim when Mum and Dad went over to meet her but I think the family will all be over later this month. If Harmony's big sister is anything to go by she will be a really beauty too. Tailyah just gets prettier every time I see her. She's apparently not to impressed with her wee sister just yet, but then what 2 year old would be? after being centre of attention all her life? lol But shes still Koko's girl and always will be. He adores both his moko's but Tailyah will always be special since she was the first.

and now I am going to be a great aunty for a 3rd time, my neice is due to have a baby in June. And her father is over the moon, hes being after his boys (now 25 and 23) to have babies but didnt think Kori would have babies since shes not exactly the motherly type (when Katie was born she insisted on calling her IT for ages) and shes only 19. But shes apparently excited about it all so I hope it all goes well for her and her partner.

Seems I kicked off another baby spree in my family when I had Katie, I started something when I had Jodi, Kori was born 2 weeks after Jodi and then the twins 10 months later so we tend toward having sets in our family, except this time its my neices and nephews having babies instead of their parents lol.

anyway Steve wants his laptop back and I want to put miss madam to bed. have a great night all.

I’m Back…well sort of

I finally have access to a computer when I need it. I picked up Steve’s laptop today, it had a faulty hard drive and has been away getting fixed for the last couple of weeks. I still don't have one of my own but at least I can use Steve’s when I want to and when he isn't lol.

Hopefully I will get a new one sometime this week all going well. cant handle this not having my own laptop, this is the longest I have been without a computer since buying my first one 10 years ago. Its not a good feeling.

At least I have been a bit productive since I have been afk, I have done 4 layouts over the last few weeks and completed a mixed media canvas for Katie's room in the weekend which is something of a branch out for me. I have done a few canvas’s before but none like this one. For the first time I did a lot of painting and it actually came out as I wanted it :) I will take a photo and upload it tomorrow. Katie loves it because it has Disney Princesses on it, I have been collecting various Jolee type princesses for ages to make it, whenever they came up on trademe cheap. It was well worth the months of collecting, it came out just as I wanted.

It took ages for me to start coming right from my last flare, I am still getting there. It was the worst flare I have had since I went on the Humira injection 15 months ago. And the heat doesn't help. I tried to faint on Thursday! Mum and I went shopping and I came over all weird and thought I was going to pass out. Doing to much to soon I guess. So I spent most of the weekend recovering from that. I tell ya, this disease is the pits! I have to go to the doctor on Friday, thought I better get her to give me a through check over and hopefully she can find a cure for the insomnia as well but I think that could be heat related too.

anyway I better go and let Steve have his computer back, he's been so patient. more tomorrow

sick of being sick

I have been in flare since Sunday (for those that don't know, flare is when this wonderful disease Rheumatoid Arthritis comes on strong and makes life miserable) and I have had ENOUGH! and to make it even more fun, I had a visit to my specialist, the lovely David Porter, on Tuesday and he has put me back on prendisone the least favourite of all the drugs I have been on. and back on to some other pills that he took me off 6 months ago when I last saw him. I hate prendisone most of all because it has so many nasty side affects, one of the worst being weight gain but also nausea, headaches and a general feeling of yuck! honestly it sucks and put me in such a mood! not only that he sent me for blood tests and xrays to make sure I didnt have an infection. Sigh it never ends does it, just when I think I am finally getting on top of this damn disease BANG along comes another flare to remind me that I have got it and its in control! moan moan bitch bitch sob sob.....I try not to let it get on top of me but it does at times like these, and as pretty as the veiw of the hills outside my bedroom window is, I am sick of it after looking at it all week.
Dad must be feeling sorry for me though, he lent me his laptop and Mum and him took Katie to go shopping for new plants for his garden.
I have been amusing myself but playing around in trademe and catching up with my emails as well as having a nosey at Lori Macini's scraproom I love looking at other peoples scrap spaces, gives me ideas for mine as well as scrap space envy lol.
anyway fingers are hurting and its time for more meds sigh...hope your all enjoying today more than me.

Well I survived the dreaded day...lol...turning 40 is not so bad though i did discover a few new wrinkles yesterday lol. we had a fab, went to lunch at the Jester House which is a must see if ever you get to Nelson. its a great place for lunch esp if you have small fries with you. Katie had a ball running around in the playground and feeding the tame eels. it was just so lovely and relaxing.
and Mum, and dad brought me the most beautiful, funky, red handbag. I love it! I am a handbag fantic. and my sister sent me flowers. Anaru (brother number 3) rung at about 8am and promised to bring my pressie over when he comes over next month and Geoff (oldest brother) called today, he forgot lol...and Shane, well he always forgets. Jodi thought my birthday was tomorrow lol but I dont expect to much from the men in my life, Steve promised to get me a pressie thursday when he gets paid lol.
On the scrapbooking front, I did the layout for Stars in their Eyes on Monday, it turned out really well but as usual its more my style than what its suppose to be. but it was fun.
anyway I better go and get dinner organised.

I decided to take on the challenge of taking 1 photo everyday for the next 365 days. Should be interesting though going to be kind of hard scrapbooking them, I am thinking mini books, I have a gatefold mini book I got from Warehouse a few weeks ago with 30 pages, using both sides, thats 6 mini books for the year, will have to ponder it. anyway here is the first photo, taken outside my bedroom window of the lavendar bush meeting the rose bush and both covered with bumblebees.

being as its saturday afternoon and i feel like death warmed up..a nice combo of med side effects (affects?) and "that time" of the month has left me lathargic to say the least....so I have been blog hopping all afternoon and found a definite favourite.... Maramadaisy which has some neat ideas and tutorials. I plan to make some push pins and a noticeboard with ideas from her website. take a look...you too can get lost for an afternoon :)
